FUBAR 2009 and South?

Hi, Ken, Roberta and Shelby,

Thanks for doing this new blog and message board.

I imagine that lots of us who were on the first FUBAR (Fleet Underway to Baja Rally) in 2007 also followed you - via your excellent blogs- down the coasts of Mexico and Central America to Golfito, Costa Rica. And since your book came out, I think even more of us have just finished 'riding along' with your most recent excellent adventures over to Shusi Land.

I'm wondering now if any of the 2009 FUBAR Participants, Sponsors, Crews and Guests (or interested parties) are monitoring this board? This November 14 - 27 we'll be cruising slowly down Baja and up to Marina CostaBaja in La Paz. This is only the 2nd such powerboat rally on the West Coast, and it's restricted to about 50 some vessels due to limited fueling en route. FMI checkout www.sdyc.org/fubar

Any FUBARistas here? Past, present or maybe future?

If so, who is planning (or considering) to continue cruising down the Pacific side of Mexico to Costa Rica or Panama Canal?

With Ken's valuable insights, it might be good to rendezvous here and share ideas.

"Thank you Joe. I registered, but apparently I need to be approved.  Maybe I won't be approved, as I'm not a participant? ..."

YVW Ken.

Please be kind, can someone help Ken get approved?  (LOL Out Loud!  giggling)

Thank you Joe. I registered, but apparently I need to be approved. Maybe I won't be approved, as I'm not a participant? We'll see...

I'm jealous I'll be missing the Fubar. It was a terrific experience, and the group that goes will have an incredible time. I hope to do it again someday!

Hopefully, some of them will keep going past La Paz. The coast between Puerto Vallarta and Ixtapa is incredible, and some of the most fun I've ever had cruising.

Greetings Pat and John!

I've been out of touch with this year's Fubar. Does the Fubar have a message board? How many Fubarites are there?

If there is indeed a message board, I'll post there and introduce myself.

We'll be in Cabo when the Fubar is there, and might try to host an event. I'll go to the Fubar site and see who the chairperson is. At a minimum I'll see if I can talk them into inviting me to dinner while the Fubar is at Puerto Los Cabos.

This board is just getting started, so I'm not sure who all is here. More people than I expected signed up (we're over 300 now), but I don't have a sense yet of who they are, or how active they'll be.

I look forward to seeing John and you in Cabo!
