Costco Japan

Roberta and I are just back on the boat after a day shopping at Costco. Afterwards, Roberta made the comment that we should just survey the world, to find out where all the Costcos are that are near marinas.

The Costco here in Japan is almost identical to the ones at home. We have now been to Costco in Yokohama, and Amagasaki. Everything is where it is at the store in Seattle, and many of the foods are the same. 

One interesting thing: a big chunk of the store was given over to Christmas decorations. I wouldn't have expected that...

Getting there was a $2 ride on a train, followed by a $10 cab ride (we could have taken a bus cheaper). But, getting back to the boat, overloaded with 'stuff' was not that easy. We took a cab to Ashiya, where the boat is -- for $70. Ouch.
